Odiham CC Suported by Bentley Surrey
Round 5 Pedal Heaven Eelmore Series 26/06/2014
The recent good weather has seen more riders turning out at Eeelmore on a Wednesday evening with the 3rd/4th race being oversubscribed the past couple of weeks. Last night’s race saw a full field racing rather cautiously with periods where the pack slowed down although the average speed for the race was over 25.5mph there were opportunities to rest.
Odiham CC was represented by Ryan Keynes and Simon Jodrell both 3rd Cat and David Driver in 4th Cat with Will Ranoe also 3rd Cat lending a hand and working hard with our riders as usual. 4 races into the series and riders are more aware of who is capable of what and some riders are certainly marked but despite this Cycleworks worked well with a large team out and seemed to try and control the race. This proved an effective tactic as Cycleworks rider Jack Noy enjoyed his second win.
Ryan rode well and employed a new tactic of sitting back and not working too hard until the sprint and managed a great 6th place with Simon having done a bit too much early on scraping into the points at 10th. David in only his second race at Eelmore didn’t manage to finish this time.
Odiham CC are putting in consistent top 10 places each week at Eelmore and are placing well in the overall series points table so with 4 more races to go hopes are high for the overall series results.
Odihamm CC will be racing at Winchester this weekend with Matthew O’Connor, Liam Keynes, Simon Jodrell and possibly Ryan Keynes starting. This promises to be a quick race with a circuit very similar in shape to Eelmoor on a smaller scale with a nice smooth surface.
