Sunday 2nd March ride – summary

By March 3, 2014Uncategorized

About a dozen of us met at 9am for what was a surprisingly dry start. We all agreed we'd attempt the planned 37 miler and we set off to Well, Lower Froyle, Bentley, Blacknest, Kinglsey, Alton, Lasham, Lower Froyle, Well, Cordall, Roke and then back to the start in Odiham. All in all it was quite a hilly but fun route with a total ascent of about 680 metres. The 14% hill just after Kingsley was the first hill to catch us out and then there was another good hill at Snode Hill near Alton, just after we peeled off the A339. And then, of course, there's the infamous hill up from Lower Froyle to Well. Still, we all made it up them and I think it was agreed that it was a challenging but good route. And best of all? No punctures!
